Join DSE for our Summer Evening Race Series at Lake Merced.
The races are held every Thursday evening, starting and finishing at the Sunset Blvd. parking lot at Lake Merced.
The specific dates for 2019 are June 6, 13, 20, 27, July 4, 11, 18, 26, August 1, 8 .
Registration and Awards
Registration begins at 5:45pm and the timed race starts promptly at 6:30pm. Walkers and self-timers can begin anytime after 5:45pm. Runners will accrue points in the following age divisions over the 10-week series: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Please note that you must run in a minimum of 5 races in order to be eligible for an award. Please note that participation in these races does not count toward your overall DSE race attendance or regular age division points.
Fees
There are two options to pay for the race fee. Summer Series races are $2 each. Cash only paid prior to start of each race. Exact change appreciated. Or purchase a Summer Series Full Summer Pass which is $10 for all 10 weeks/races. That’s a 50% discount!!! It’s available to everyone and membership is not required, but new DSE members are always welcome! We encourage everyone to purchase the Full Summer Pass online and early, but it may also be purchased with cash at the start of a race.

Time Limit
Cutoff time for the race will be 1 hour, or approximately 7:30pm. If you think you can’t complete the course in 60 minutes, please self-time as we will stop timing runners and take down the finish line at the 1 hour mark.

Run one 4.5 mile clockwise loop around the lake staying entirely on jogging/pedestrian path.
