MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OF THE SAN FRANCISCO DOLPHIN SOUTH
END RUNNERS CLUB (“DSE” or the “Club”)
Date and time: Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 11;00 am
Place: Southside of Polo Field, Golden Gate Par, San Francisco, CA
A meeting of the general membership of the San Francisco Dolphin South End Runners Club was held at the above date, time and place, pursuant to notice duly given in the DSE News.
18 members and the following club officers President Kevin Lee, Sr. VP Janet Nissenson, 2nd VP George Sacco and Treasurer Steve Nissenson were in attendance.
Kevin Lee called the meeting to order at 11:00 am. Roxanna Pezzy recorded the proceedings of the meeting.
The general membership reviewed and unanimously approved the minutes of the December 19, 2004 General Meeting.
Officers’ Reports:
Membership Chairperson Richard Finley disclosed that nembership is declining,
341 Household members and 495 individuals as of 9/6/05. Discussion followed about conducting a membership drive and adding a new Active.com link.
Treasurer Steve Nissenson distributed a Year-End Club Income Statement, as of 9/5/05.
There was $35,679.00 income vs. $36, 440.93 club expense. Factoring in the 4th quarter estimations, net income should be $122.07.
New Business
Kevin reported the overwhelming success of the DSE Race Schedule with major contributions from DSE’s major race events (DD, Waterfront 10 & Coastal Trail Challenge).
Pending race authority approval the 2006 DSE Race Schedule will include 3 new races: Sawyer Camp 5K/10K, DSE 40th Anniversary 5K and Lake Merced ˝ Marathon.
Discussion followed on the fate of the Distance Classic race event.
Daryl Luppino has agreed to be the 2006 DSE Kids Race Director.
After a very positive showing, DSE is happy to announce the 2006 DSE Gala will again be held at the Irish Cultural Center.
With the news of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Discussion followed with a motion to raise funds via a collection jar at the weekly DSE Races and turn over the net race revenue from the upcoming Rainbow Falls 5K.
Other Items from the Floor-
Discussion from the Fitness Game (race organizer) to accept a special discounted race entry fee/agreement was declined; due to being presented too close to same day DSE race commitment.
With no further business, Kevin adjourned the meeting at 11:40 a.m.
