George Sacco/Kevin followed with a combined 2006 Race Attendance/2007 DSE Race Schedule report showcasing 7 months of 2006 DSE Races with a net 935 increase in race attendance. It is very encouraging to see the dividends DSE is receiving from putting on very well organized, low cost/affordable weekly races. In 2007 DSE will continue to modify its 2007 Race Schedule to make it more attractive to 5K/10K race participants.
Kevin reported on a 2007 SF Park & Rec Race Permit Increase meeting. With an uproar from the attendees, the race increase proposal was postpone until another favorable proposal (with the input of the attendees) could be drafted.
Kevin announced 2007 Club Officer Nominations would be extended until Labor Day, 9/5/06.
New Business
Janet Nissenson presented a counter proposal to have an Executive Committee consisting of 15 volunteers instead of having five club officers. The existence of such an Executive Committee would result in a favorable distribution of Club tasks and allow those volunteering an opportunity to participate in more of the Sunday races.
Ken Reed introduced two proposals that were voted and adopted. 1) DSE has decided to join the GG National Parks Conservancy at the $250 Conservator level. Joining this organization may forge new favorable relationship with GGNRA. 2) After discussion of the Restoration of the top 100 Dipsea Steps. DSE approved of raising $1000 for one step.
With no further business, Kevin adjourned the meeting at 11:20 am.
