VOLUNTEERS


DSE would not be able to put on 40+ races each year without the continued effort of its dedicated volunteers. There is an ongoing need each week for at least five volunteers to assist the Race Director. Two volunteers will be needed to handle registration from 8-9am (these volunteers would therefore have the opportunity to also run the race), and three volunteers to assist with finish line timing/stringing from 8:55am to the race end (a good option for self-timers, those nursing injuries or otherwise not racing that week). Additional volunteers for aid stations and course monitors will be needed for our larger races including the Waterfront 10M, Coastal Trail Challenge, and Lake Merced Half Marathon.

A reminder that members will need to volunteer at least twice each year to receive a small trophy, and four times to receive a large trophy for the Gala (volunteering for the Double Dipsea in late June will also satisfy this requirement). If you can assist at any of the 2008 races listed below, please contact Kevin at dse.pekingduck@juno.com or 415-751-9653 (after 7pm) or simply sign your name to the print copy of the Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet that will be available at each weekly race.
